About us
There was very limited access to aluminium profiles, accessories, machinery and know-how during the late seventies.
Multitrade introduced the prospect of a new material that was very limited in Malta, and started spreading the aluminium trade by supplying and instructing local blacksmiths and other placements.
At the time of opening our business there were three producers of aluminium doors and windows who monopolized the market, and would not share their knowledge and know- how.
Multitrade was the first to represent Allco of Pisa, Italy, for the supply and distribution of Aluminium profiles on the market of Malta and Gozo. We also represented Anodal, who supplied us with accessories and machinery for the production of aluminium doors and windows.
After leading the aluminium trade in Malta for a number of years, We decided to reduce our range of aluminium profiles, and we now specialize in standard profiles such as angles, flat bars, tubes, squares and rectangular profiles.
We also maintain a good supply of aluminium accessories for doors and windows, particularly for those who need a wide choice, and advice about traditional series of profiles.
With thirty eight years experience within the aluminium trade, we are confident that our advise and guidance is second to none to the DIY market, and for people who wish to do their own replacements of hinges, locks and other accessories on doors and windows.
Examples of such applications are:
- Heat resistance for ovens.
- Carrying capacity for different loads. Offering advise on the carrying
requirements. For customers not to overspend on wheels and castors with lighter loads, and not to underestimate heavier loads, where quality and specific features are required.
At a later stage, import licences for ladders were no longer required. We therefore decided to start importing high quality ladders that were EN-131 certified, and those which carried other EU and international certification, which demonstrates the quality and safety of our ladders.
- Receiving our first samples of Tellure Rota – Wheels and Castors 1977
- Receiving our container load of Roof Tanks 1978
- Receiving the first container of Aluminium Profiles from Allco Spa 1979
- Production of Aluminium Ladders – 1981
Moved into current Multitrade premises in 1999
We supplied the polycarbonate sheets for the roofing of the Institute of Tourism twice. (Once when institute was established, and again, when they refurbished the roofing).
We supplied ladders to pilots at the annual airshow for a number of years. These allowed the pilots to easily access the airplanes during the shows.
Our staff members can help you with any questions you may have about our products, and we can offer guidance about practically any DIY project which you may have.
